Appointment of the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Oklahoma

Muskogee, OK -- The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit has appointed Scott Graham as Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Oklahoma effective August 4, 2023. Mr. Graham has served as Interim Federal Public Defender for the newly created Eastern District of Oklahoma since February 2023.

Mr. Graham earned his undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and his law degree from the University of Tulsa, College of Law. Mr. Graham began his legal career at the Seymour Law Firm in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the first decade of his practice, Mr. Graham focused on federal civil rights cases and federal criminal defense as a Criminal Justice Act panel attorney. In 2014, he joined the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma. He served as First Assistant Federal Defender for the combined districts in 2019 and continued in that capacity in the Northern District of Oklahoma when the districts were split in 2021.

The Tenth Circuit, with administrative headquarters in Denver, Colorado, encompasses the states of Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wyoming.
